• Typing Test, Bingo Cards

Activity

Typing Test - first we will take a typing test.

Then... we will
create bingo cards for the younger students to use next week. They have been learning about the parts of the computer. To help them out, each student will create a bingo card using template (click on this to get the template). Do the following:

Include the following words:
- desktop
- taskbar
- cd drive
- modem
- icon
- laptop computer
- desktop computer
- speakers
- monitor
- printer
- mouse
- cpu
- internet
- website
- joystick

To put the words onto the card:

- LOOK AT THE EXAMPLE ON THE TEMPLATE!!!!
- Insert the word in the square. Be sure to center the word and use a 16 point font.
- Find and insert an image that will help the student know what the word says. (Remember - they can't always read all of the words!)
- Some words will be used twice!
- Include a free space in the center!

When you have finished the card

- Save the file to the Class of 2013 folder.
- Name the file "Your first name Bingo Card" - for example, "Allie's Bingo Card"
- Save it as an excel spreadsheet
- Save it AGAIN as a pdf
- Print the card out in color
- Give it to Mrs. Boone

You may then have choice time - unless you owe me work!

Assessment

45 possible points -
- 25 points for word/image combination
- 5 points for saving as a pdf
- 5 points for saving as an excel sheet
- 5 points for putting it in the correct folder on the network
- 5 points for having it done by the end of today's class
